Country Music Celebrates Thanksgiving: Where To See Your Favorite Stars on TV

Written by Amanda Tempel

Thanksgiving Day isn’t just about turkey and touchdowns—it’s also a feast for country music fans! This year, some of your favorite stars are bringing their talent to the small screen, offering memorable performances during America’s favorite holiday traditions.

Morning Festivities: Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Start your day with the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a family favorite that kicks off the holiday season. This year’s parade boasts an exciting lineup of performances, including Dan + Shay, Dasha, Walker Hayes, and The War and Treaty. Tune in to catch their live performances alongside the parade's legendary floats and balloons.

Halftime Entertainment: Bears vs. Lions

As you settle in for the first football game of the day, featuring the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions, don’t miss the halftime show! Rising star Shaboozey will take the stage, and you can bet he’ll deliver his record-breaking hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”. The game kicks off at 12:30 PM ET on CBS.

Afternoon Highlight: Lainey Wilson at the Red Kettle Kickoff

Later in the day, country superstar Lainey Wilson will light up the halftime stage during the Dallas Cowboys’ matchup, airing at 4:30 PM ET on Fox. Her performance is part of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show, an annual tradition now in its 28th year.

The Red Kettle Campaign spotlights the critical needs of millions across the country during the holidays and throughout the year. In 2023, funds raised through this campaign supported services for over 27 million Americans. Since its inception, the partnership between the Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys has raised more than $3 billion to help those in need.

“It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of legendary performers like my friend Dolly Parton, The Jonas Brothers, and Reba, of course, to kick off The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettle Campaign,” Lainey shared. “Join me at the Red Kettle this Christmas season, because we truly can do more good when we come together to serve those in need in our communities.”

Cheers to country music…and of course all that delicious food!
